HOT HOT HOT!

What a weekend!!! Talk about hot! I don't think I've ever drank so much Gatorade, and water (thanks Katherine!)
As always, Maryland horse trials was wonderful! I love this place so much. I swear the volunteers get friendlier each time!
Congrats to Kari, who ran Training this weekend. She managed to pull a 39 in dress. Now anyone that knows Knick, knows this is no small feat! Kari also pulled the show jumping together (literally) while Knick did his best to create as much drama, and make as much noise as possible. I love watching these two, it cracks me up... literally! They of course tore it up XC.
Congrats Alexa to not only taking Serra Valleys Michael to his first training, but also getting 6th in a division of 17! She jumped double clear and finished on her dress score!
My little mare was a rock star!
Shes making so much progress on the flat! She warmed up well and waited til in the ring to be unruly. Now while this sounds silly, it is a real step from being explosive in warm up, to explosive AND unruly in the ring. ;-) Oh and I forgot my test!
There was a lot of atmosphere this weekend and unfortunately, my little girls tenseness followed her into the packed show jumping ring! Beast always show jumps well, so the rails were uncharacteristic. Especially because her round was really good, just jumping by Braille that day! XC was a blast, we hopped around that course with a smile on both our faces! It was a walk in the park and the sky is the limit with this one. Literally!
My little Buckshot was perfect. Absolutely perfect.
After standing on the trailer for 4 hours, in that heat, he had his best event to date. He tried as hard as he could for me in dressage. He is still so new to this!
He jumped like a champ. He is so eager to please in the showjumping.
What a blast we had cross country! He really proves himself more and more. I could really feel it click in this weekend! When he saw the water, he said "oh, oh (you know like that kid in class with their hand in the air?) I got it, I got it!" Then he accelerated into the water making a big splash! The only iffy moment was when he locked in on a prelim table and it took two hands to deter him!
Boyd Martin says horses at the upper levels would be the ones in bar fights.
Buckshot definitely thinks he is 10 feet tall and bullet proof.
I think he might be also!

Loch Moy 1

What a weekend!!!! I am so proud of my girls, Lexi and Emily!!!
Both of them were in 1st after dressage!!!!!!!!!!!! Emily stayed in first with a clear and precise show jumping and a perfect XC! Lexi took only one rail, and looked perfect cross country to put her in third at the finish! All the hard work paid off!
It was good to see all my friends did well also at loch moy! It is one of my favorite events to go to!
On other news, student and friend Alexa is ranked 7th nationally, on the leader board for Novice!
Stay tuned for photos and news of the second Loch Moy.
