I would like to take this time to BRAG about my AMAZING students.
In all these videos, and all day at the clinic, ALL my ladies were perfect!
All the hard work paid off! Its the last day of January, and we are in top form!! I normally would hope to be this far along by early March, but we are rocking out a full month ahead of schedule!
Everyone had tight lower legs, great upper body position, and STRONG cores! The difference from six weeks ago is unreal!!!
Laney's "Patsy" was a different horse from the last clinic. This horse has come a long ways in a short time, with the expert riding by Laney, and the "program" we have her in.
Kari has Knick going so well. He is actually listening to her!!! What a concept!
Katie C looked "perfect" yet again on Riley. Riley can have a real opinion on things also, let me just tell you!
Alexis did a great job with Packer. He didn't cough once! We are getting it all figured out. Alexis did not pull to see a distance, yeaaaa!
Allison, who has been pushing herself very hard lately, looks like a different rider then 6 weeks ago. She was good then, but is great now.
I was smiling from ear to ear during the whole clinic.
This is what it's all about. Not the ribbons, or the prizes, or thinking you are "better" then someone else. This! This moment when you realize how far you have come, how much you have learned, how strong you are.
All my ladies are amazing. They each earned every single ounce of it. I am so proud!
Everyone else that joined the clinic today looked amazing also! Just a happy day over all.
I thank you everyone that makes this all possible. I thank you all for being so great and believing in yourself. Continue to do so, if you don't believe in yourself, who will?
A little more bragging, my girls were perfect. Beast continues to love her hackamore. Callie continues to love anything that involves a treat at the end. Except if I kick her. Then she bucks really big. But she waits til Stephen is not looking. :)
So the event season is planned ( I have planned my students also, they just don't know yet). Upcoming jumper shows are set. Bascule next weekend, a relaxing outing for the Beast, Lanesters is going to tear it up. Anyone else want to join?
Busy days will continue, try to get it all in before the newest storm hits.
Thank you my Dave for all the videos. You are the best.
Thank you Nick for the amazing amount of plowing you have done at our farm. I don't know if I realized how long it takes to plow all that area and driveway, but after this latest snow, I do! It really is nice to be at a farm where nothing is ever broken or not working. We all appreciate it so much.
So, anyways I will sleep well tonight. I'm glad that I lived happy today.
"Everyone dies but not every one lives"

Hang in there everyone, spring is right around the corner. Sun, flowers and butterflies! Until then keep pushing, lean in, look determined and keep trying. IT'S WORKING for everyone!!!!!!!!!

Good old Dave!

I hear we lost power last night? I fell asleep on the couch at 7:45! I was shuffled off to bed, noticed there were candles all around? What the ...? Is Dave trying to be romantic?
Anyway I realized at some point what was going on! Mags got into bed with us to stay warm. Dave gave the dogs some extra blankets.
I woke up and thought to my self where did all THESE blankets come from? Dave must have covered us with 7 blankets! I was sweating, and Mags was next to me wrapped up like a burrito under all that stuff! God do we own a lot of blankets.
With in 5 minutes of waking, the power came back on! Yeaaaaa! Internet and t.v. Although a day in the house with the internet is not always good for an avid shopper such as myself.
A little shoveling will help keep us busy!
So Dave shoveled our whole driveway by hand.
Those that have seen our driveway know, this is no small feat!
So I was watching him, thinking hmmmmm I really want to use the trailer tom. I figured I would have to go do some shoveling of my own.
I took a turn, worked for about 30 min. I got a lot done! Not near the road though, that stuff is HEAVY! Its all mixed with the salt.
Anyway, I looked out just now, and Dave is out there shoveling more and turning the trailer around for me! Those of you that use the trailer give Dave a thanks when you see him!(He loves baked goods)
I promise I will not be lazy, and will always back it in from now on!
I love you Doozers!

Long days!

Friday was Expo day! Mags sat on Sharon's lap for the Jimmy Wofford clinic.
Then we would run wildly for a few minutes,(well Maggie would and I would try to keep up) then repeat the process....back to Sharon's lap :)
Lots of good deals at the expo!
We started setting up for the show at Serra Valley this AM at 8. Maggie directed from her directors chair.
The course looks GREAT!!!
After that, Dave and Mags went home. Off to Darenth for me!
Alexis and I brought two sets each to Serra Valley , to get all the horses ridden. Everyone was a star! Knick didn't even tantrum about the scarecrow or the new beautiful centaurs hanging on the wall! ;)
My spring fever is in FULL swing. I can't wait for shiny coats, t-shirts, and SUNSHINE! I have both mares calendars planned out! This is going to be an exciting year!
We will continue to push to try to train hard (although the weather try's to get in the way) . Both Beast and Callie are making amazing progress. Summer has about 6 weeks then she will be joining the program!
It makes me so happy to see my girls in such a good place.
All my students are in a good place also!

Laney and I will be joining Sharon for some fox hunting on Wed! Hunter is going to go tomorrow.
Hunter is made to be a good fox hunter!
Hopefully we will have a busy week ahead of us with lots of riding! (Maybe some warm temperatures also!)

Zoom zoom. My ladies rocked out last night!
I got on Patsy to feel her jumping style, which is very familiar.....(Beast).
So I donned the helmet that was near by that I knew would fit!
Its a keeper! Show season 2011.
Can't wait until the jumper show at Serra Valley this Sunday!

Busy Busy!

What a great weekend!
Saturday, we went to the used tack sale at the fair grounds, AND the sale at Stablemates!
We all got some GREAT stuff!!!! Soooo exciting!
Sunday was busy busy with lessons and riding.
Allison did a fabulous job on Michael! Her muscle memory has taken over, so her jump position is strong and easy, allowing her to focus on lots of other things!
Julia and Taylor had an Amazing lesson!!! Taylor's little mare was much quieter this lesson. She was very rideable and Taylor did a great job riding her!
Julia was fab. I have taken her to the yoga side! She started her practice recently, and I can't wait to have her position reap the benefits.
Alexis and Katie are having amazing breakthroughs on the flat. Learning to support and ride with a flexible seat and leg!

My girls had a hard week. They did a lot of flat work and jumped on Sunday. They were both angels. (All though I hear Callie was trying her wings out when Kari tried to hack her on Sat!)
My new student Heather is doing great!
A few more lessons and she will be back where she was in no time!
Today's stinky weather means no dressage lesson with Fred. :(
I will still be able to teach my ladies in Walkersville though. In the wonderful indoor!
This weekend is the JUMPER SHOW!!!!
We are expecting a great turn out!

We had a wonderful trail ride (although many toes and fingers were temporarily lost)! Breanna, Allison, Riley, Megs, and Ameraih joined me and Beasty for a snowy sunset trail!
After that, we had hot cocoa made from the electric kettle that the Dawsons gave me for my birthday!
My ladies rode last night. Everyone did fabulous!
Today we will be taking a few groups over to SV for some lessons.
Tomorrow Katie C myself and maybe Sharon will be riding together in the warmth at SV. Then this weekend, its suppose to be 40!!!! Its a heat wave!
Callie can't wait!

Weekend Warriors!

My wonderful Dave put up my new back splash! Thank you also to the wonderful Katie Cindric for her contribution towards this!
We all had a busy busy weekend! On saturday, Sharon, Allison and I took Harmony, Beast and Callie on a trail ride in the snow. The girls were all wonderful!
My tack looked so sad, it really wanted me to give it a "show" cleaning, so I took pity on it and took it all home with me. Its not the same wiping it off everyday in the freezing cold!
On Sunday, we took Harmony, Callie and Beast over to Serra Valley and did some Dressage work. We met my friends Katherine, and Laney! Then I took back Knick for Laney to do a jumping lesson, and I rode Packer!
Yesterday started with teaching in West Virginia (wonderful). Then I had to hurry back to get Beasty's feet done, and Sharon and I took Callie and Harmony back over to SV again! We wanted to get as much time in the saddle as possible in case it snows a lot!
Today Mags and I are going to hang out at home. We may have a little field trip later, but its time for some relaxing until I teach tonight!

Ladies Rockin it out!

Lots of riders last night!
Everyone was fabulous!
Kari and Knick are doing great, proving how awesome Kari is and how Knick has still got it! I got on him for a demo, its always so bittersweet. Its like putting on a favorite pair of blue jeans (although i like to think Knick would be designer jeans) its so nice to have found them again, but sad that you lost them in the first place.
I have so many happy memories with Knick, and I am so happy Kari "has him" now. I am joyful when I watch this pair!
Katie C. continues to do well with Riley. They jumped the big wall last night! Yeaaaa!
Laney did her Debut on blue. Holy crap, this little horse is a cute jumper! I'm so excited for Laney to have a couple nice horses to ride. She deserves it!
Julia looked perfect on Princess, time to start doing more complex exercises.
Julia's friend Taylor joined us, what fun!!!! Her mare is a wild child, but Taylor is on top of it! I love people that are fun to teach!
Alexis cracked me up last night. Every time I looked at her she had a big grin o her face, like she knew a secret. She rode well, and we seem to be getting better at monitoring/managing Packers allergies. Fingers crossed for allergy test results and treatment.
Annie continued to make progress with Rae. Rae especially likes her new saddle, to go with her Mommas new truck! Its been fun having Annie back from school. We are so sad she has to leave us again!
Anyways, a great night for all in the warm soft indoor!
Sharon and I are off to the tack store (where I will look not buy, I swear!!!!)and then to check out a potential new school horse.

We have had a ton of questions about the January 23 jumper show at Serra Valley! We will try to have it come hell or high water. If the overflow parking field is soft and soupy, we will park extras behind the outdoor, and have a short hack over to the indoor. We are hoping, that the large gravel lot next to the indoor will accommodate many.
Also, if the outdoor ring is to hard to use as warm up, we will be doing 15 minute warm ups in the indoor between each division. We will be monitoring the warm up, and preventing it from being chaotic!
So anyways, plan to come ride! We need volunteers! Hopefully my usual ladies and men will help again, let me know soon, so we can get the correct number of helper "rewards" printed out!!!!
We want this show to be better then the last, even though the last was pretty darn good!!

Time for some yoga, hopefully I can burn off some of this spring fever I have! (and hopefully Mags will sleep a little longer!)

Kari on Knick!

Darenth ring still holding up!

I look like the original creeper, and with the flash on you can't tell that our ring is lit up like a football stadium!
I'm so happy our ring is holding up!

My Walkersville crew had great lessons yesterday! You would never know that its the middle of winter!
All four of my lessons were phenomenal, and all the ladies really did look wonderful!
There are only a few spots left in the Stephen Bradley clinic, which will be on Jan 29th at Serra Valley! Let me know asap if you are interested!
We are also gearing up for the January 23rd Jumper show at Serra Valley!
Can't wait!!!
