Surefire!!!

What a busy weekend, and talk about HOT!!!
First off congrats too Alexa, who had a fantastic weekend. Ending on her dressage score of 34 and winning on Serra Valleys Michael! She also put in a stellar test with Serra Valleys Mr. Wizard, earning a 31! Poor Wizard didn't like the footing too much and had a couple rails (unlike his usual careful self).
Congratulations to S.S. Buckshot! He ended 9th after a solid dressage test, a great show jumping round and a eager to please XC! What a long way this horse has come in a short time! We don't even have an indoor to do the dressage boot camp ;-)
Kari had the best dressage test to date on that tricky Knickerbocker, and after a great show jumping round (only one blond moment) the heat got to her head and she skipped a fence......OK she skipped two fences. BUMMER! They looked fantastic as the got thru the first half of their course and I have no doubt they would have had a clean XC to add to their record!
Emily was tied for first after a beautiful dressage test! Her mare gave her a hard time in show jumping, pointing out it may be time to back down and re approach. I am so proud of Emily and how well she rode.
All my Southern edition friends had wonderful rides Lindsey 6th (despite being sick), Margo won....AGAIN! Sharon rocked it in all three phases, the others winning ribbons as well.
It was hot and our horses worked their little red, grey, brown, and black butts off for us.
Next weekend is time to catch up with some family time, then Loch Moy!!!

Waredaca unrecognized!!!

Sunday was a successful day at Waredaca. As always the event was beautifully run. They have it down to a T and everything was on time and even a little early! Hunter did an awesome job. His mares allergies flared up a little in the dressage, but handled the turf in the grass ring beautifully! I hear a rumor that waredaca will be putting in new dressage arenas!!!!
Hunter and Fancy show jumped beautifully and jumped cross country great. Fancy just needs a little more fine tuning in XC and she will be very competitive! She will be doing some pipe openers so she can practice XC in the show atmosphere.
All in all considering Hunter and the Fabry clan have done all the legging up themselves on this young mare, I couldn't be prouder!!!!
Of course Alexa did well on her mare as well. Josie or "organized chaos" has her own agenda at times and LOVES to jump!!! Alexa did great adding only one rail to her dressage score.
We are gearing up for Surefire this weekend....Wish us luck!
Beast will start up with her lessons again after her brief vacation, show jumping tomorrow.
Callie will hack at frying pan while I teach a cross country lesson on Friday, Buckshot will be joining us, hopefully with Alison at the wheel.
Check back in for anymore updates!!!!We have a busy calender and you are always welcome to join us in a schooling. Even if you cant bring a horse, use one of ours or hang out and watch!!
Enjoy our first week of summer weather, and find a friend with a pool!!!!!

Summer Reign!!!!!!

Check us out!!!! We are pretty incredible!!!

Despite the heat, and the long walk from trailering, (I am not exaggerating it was like a 20 minute walk) we still arrived early at the indoor. We had not been told that we would be parked so far from the ring, but it all seemed to be working out!

Summer and I have been working at home on striking off at the same time, and showing her incredible movement. I was so excited to show her off in the ring!

We walked in the indoor and were told to go straight in.....WHAT?

WE HAVE 15 MINUTES!!!!!

No such luck. We had to go straight in. They did give us one practice walk, but I never got to practice our trot!

Summer rocked it. She was quiet, well mannered, stood well, and trotted much better then last year! She didn't care about the atmosphere AT ALL! There was a long break between ourselves and the horse before us, and I felt the morning was very discombobulated.
Needless to say Summer ended fourth out of a large competitive class. While that is something to be proud of, I think she was judged a bit harshly!
So...wait till the next FYEH and her first YEH. We have a fire lit under us now, BETTER WATCH OUT EVENTING WORLD.....WERE COMING LIKE A STORM.

Congratulations Lexi!!! Lexi completed her first recognized event at Senneca! Her dressage was much much improved on her cheeky little horse and despite a couple rails, had a clean cross country with no time putting her in 11th place! Way to go I'M SO PROUD.
Now we gear up for Summers FYEH in Boyds and Waredaca unrecognized with Hunter! Hunter had a FABULOUS XC school yesterday (in the rain) and is ready to go!
Alexis's horse Packer is making a speedy recovery, hes trotting and soon to be on regular turnout. He will be back to winning in no time!
Beast is eager to return from her little vacation, gearing up for a couple weeks of work before Loch Moy.
Buckshot is getting used in lessons this week and then will have a tune up before Surefire!

Serra Valley 6-15-10

Video made by Hannah Youngblood. Me, Lexi, Hunter and Emily. Callie's very first time going thru water and jumping! P.S. I told Lexi to keep patting the chestnut as she went into the water and when I tell Lexi to do something she sure does it !!!!! =o)

Callie (dark bay) Loved the water after an initial lack of understanding(Thanks Val aka the rear end clucker)! She was super brave jumping and had beautiful classic style at the end, tight in front and careful behind. What progress for a little 4 yr old 6 weeks in!

Jazz (Grey)had a positive school with Emily, keeping her confidence up on the wet footing. Remember if they dwell, land and send em.

Lexi and Sienna (chestnut) did a good job babysitting Callie and stayed nice and close.

Hunter and Fancey Pants (bay) rocked it!

As always Serra Valley was beautiful and well maintained. We are so lucky to be so close to such a wonderful facility!

Today was Callie's first lesson with Susan Graham White!! Both Beast and Callie had a hard work out and both helped me work on different areas of my riding. Susan got on Beast for me which was very helpful. I couldn't believe how down to business and quiet Callie was! Both horses looked and felt great by the end of the lessons.
I am looking forward to the nice weather tomorrow, as most of my wed. lessons at Darenth were moved until then! Tonight will be a relaxing night for me, and hopefully Beast is not picking on her new field mate Callie, too much!

Lexi and S.S.Buckshot

What a weekend!!!!Rubicon was great! Beast put in a less then stellar dressage test and had remarks on her test like"not very polite!" I suppose she is entitled to once in a blue moon mare behavior! She jumped like a champ and made up for it, climbing her way to 7th! Buckshot was perfect in all three phases, his dressage score not reflecting his quiet and relaxed test! With a little more technical schooling this horse will be unstoppable! After a brief thunderstorm putting a hold on course during dressage, we all jumped on the freshly watered footing! No problem for Buckshot! He finished 8th and got a ribbon at his very first recognized event!
Congrats to my student/friend Alexa who finished 3rd on Serra Valley Mikey and 7th (in a very competitive division) on Serra Valleys Mr. Wizard both novice! Way to represent!!!
Callie is settled in at Darenth.
We are getting ready for Senneca with Lexi, Waredaca with Hunter and the FYEH in Boyds with Summer Reign, Darenths upcoming show stopper of a two year old!

Yesterday my little friend Buckshot went for a trail ride at Morgan Run. He led and followed, played in the river, and navigated tricky terrain. Hes so much fun! Beasty practiced her dressage test and I'm not going to lie, did counter canters for the first time! She was a good girl!
Callie has off until her move to my farm on Sunday.
Today was a great day, the weather held out despite some rumbles. So now that its evening it should rain and give us perfect footing for Rubicon this weekend!
My students Meg and Katie both had great lessons, and we will have a little video clip as soon as I down load it.
Katie rode Riley (my dads horse) and he is truly worth his weight in gold. Katie plans on making a big debut at an upcoming short course.

Well yesterday was a busy busy day! Beast came back from Waredaca great!
Callie has discovered her hatred of bugs combined with a fear of her halter breaking while backing up. Lets just say my saddle is a little more broken in.
After Callie broke in my saddle a bit more, she had a lovely jump school. She will be moving to my farm this weekend.
My girls and I then all went to An Otherwise Perfect farm, which was lovely as always. Everyone did a great job!!! Buckshot was perfect, very happy to be out xc! Gena and her Brighten had a perfect school in his little hackamore. Hes a happy Connemara without his bit in! Of course Gena's wonderful riding might have had something to do with it to.
Alison and Alexa did wonderfully on the novice horses, though I'm sure they enjoyed the ride in the truck just as much. ;-}
Lexi's horse was a little tired so he was being a little tricky, kept her on her toes! Its good to have days where they are not so into it. Its good practice in case they are like that at the event.
I wish I had pictures!!!
A busy day, a night of good sleep!
