Grab Strap

It is official. I need a grab strap! After talking about it with Stephen, we are going to try it out! There are some down sides to having an incredible jumper, learning how to stay with her! Thank god incredible Canadian rider, Hawley Bennet has paved the way for us on HER incredible mare, Ginny.
Sharon and I had a fantastic lesson yesterday at Stephens, after my GPS took us the scenic route!
My good friend Katie came with us and made sure the dingo did not eat my baby!!!
Callie jumped yesterday also and was great! she is coming along.
Today its off to Oatlands for dressage.
Michigan this weekend, then here comes morven!

Marlborough, Mary and Emily!

Our little Mares, doing their best to jump by braille, us doing our best to try and stop em =o)

MARLBOROUGH!

We had a greaaaaat weekend!!!!!
Marlboro was fun, once everyone could figure out how to get there!
The beg novice course was inviting, for the most part.
The water was tricky, although they made up for it by not actually flagging the water .
All of my students went through it with no problem!
They had a ramp, 4 or 5 strides into the water, then a ramp out!
Hunter had a beautiful dressage test! He earned a 37, had only one rail in the rail dropping ring, and went clean XC. He rode fancy slow and careful, just like instructed!!! What a amazing first recognized event!
Lexi, despite Ernie losing yet another shoe the day before, pulled off a great dressage test! Ernie's back is feeling good (thus the shoe pulling) over tracking the whole time. I will admit, Ernie is kind of a butt head about dressage. She rode wonderfully in SJ and went around perfect in XC! Not many kids could keep Ernie together like Lexi does!
Emily, who ended 6th in a very large division, had a 34 in dressage. Charlie was tense his first 3 fences in SJ, but then settled beautifully. Watching his xc, I can't believe this is the same horse as last year!!!! He was amazing!
Emily also competed Jazz, novice. She earned a 32.5 in her dressage, putting her in first. Em SJ beautifully and went XC perfectly!.........UH OH they announced a stop at the water??? The water wasn't flagged for novice either though? Emily talked to the td who said "no you had a stop at the bank." Long story short, Emily did not have a stop, but they gave her one anyway. The important thing is that we all know how awesome Jazz was.
Beasty was her wonderful complex self. I got my dressage tests mixed up, but sorted it out before going into the ring. (Thank god) Beasty threw me a bone this day, holding both her counter canters, and doing all her movements fairly agreeably! SJ she warmed up well and jumped tense in the ring! A beautiful round with a ton of rails. Jumper shows for Beasty! Xc was a blast, Beast rocked it out as usual. The course was straight forward, except a one stride off a bank into the water, up a bank, tight two stride to a house out, A rather tight bounce, and a couple other random tough questions.
Beasty ended 4th!
Um so if any ones thinking of having a nice easy run, From what I saw of the training level, it looked kind of tough! A big airy trakehner, a bank to bank, to house at the water?!
I think all the courses, except the beg novice had some random hard questions for the level!
Oh and try not to get lost in the woods! ( I did! arghhh I am such a space cadet!)
Today I'm off to Stephen's for a show jump school with Beasty. Tomorrow Callie goes to Susan G White, busy busy!
I am so proud of all my students!
We are getting ready for Morven and the unrecognized at Loch Moy!

Back!!!

Yesterday was a wonderful welcome back!
What success we had at Loch Moys short course! It stopped raining about an hour before the event started, which was perfect timing for us to start our course walks!!
Hannah and Buckshot had a fantastic dressage test, with a score of 38. I must say I thought he deserved better then that! Needless to say, he finished on his dressage score, jumping beautifully!
Hannah and Buckshot got a green ribbon at her very first event ever!! Way to go!!
Gena and Brighten got a third place in their very competitive class! Gena had a beautiful dressage, and a picture perfect cross country. This was both Gena and Brightens first event. Everyone better watch out for this pair, I don't think they will be leaving any shows without a ribbon!!!!
Emily and Charlie also got third in their Beg novice class! Emily rode beautifully, but more importantly prepared well! It shows, the hard work has paid off and the good riding is showing in the results!
Hunter has made so much progress! Fance, the lovely mare that she is ( ;-) gave him a run for his money XC! Once Fance really understands what all of this is, the combination of brains and athleticism will work in Hunters favor.....Patience for now! They did a stellar job in the dressage ring.
I'm so proud of everyone!
Beast is doing wonderfully.
Callie had her second official XC school today. WHAT A BLAST!!!
This week, we all just plug away on our homework, and enjoy this beautiful weather!!!

Off I Go!

Dave, Maggie and I are off to Orlando! We wish everyone luck at the AEC's!
Tomorrow, I have a show jump lesson, with Peter Foley, soooo excited!!! Stephen is still gearing up for the AEC's and super busy! I hope all my students do well and have a wonderful safe trip!
My little mares are in good hands, and everyone else not going south is getting ready for Loch Moys short course and Marlborough.
Buckshot is in good hands with the girls/ladies at the barn.
He will probably be pulling in another blue ribbon soon!
Not to much longer and Callie will be making her big debut!
Off for now, I have to pack for my trip!
